Let us introduce to you Honest Abe. He is one of those special, few and far between kind of horses that you would drive the wheels off of your truck and trailer to find. He is an AQHA foundation bred 8 year old 16.0 hand gelding that’s fancy broke and Gentle for absolutely anyone. Abe is very well trained and rides both western and English. Soft in the face and holds collection well. He has a nice slow, smooth jog and lopes out on cue. Always takes his leads and does flawless lead changes. Good one hand, neck, rein or direct rein. Great stop, backs soft and moves over with ease to open and close the gates. Abe is outstanding in every way. He is solid and settled to ride out anywhere, from our busy urban streets to the mountain trails, Abe will handle it all with confidence and ease. He’s solid riding in our neighborhood alongside of busy streets, farm animals and the neighborhood dogs that run up at us. On the trails Abe will lead, follow or ride respectfully in a group as well as out on his own. Crosses the river, the creeks, downed timber, over the trail bridge, and over tarps. He is sure footed and dependable in the rocks and steep terrain. Abe has a long list of achievements. Started as an all-around horse and has spent time roping on the heading side. Been to jackpots and has roped and drug calves to the branding fire. He’s been patterned on the barrels and shifts leads well. Abe has been rode English and has been jumped over small fences. He has been handled and rode by a 5 year old child then can go to work for Mom or Dad. Carries the flag and is smooth traveling. Been rode numerous miles in the Black Hills of SD and has ponied other horses. Extremely good natured and is good about everything. He has a want to please you kind of disposition.
